Detailed Narrative Description of Project: JICA Mongolia Office contracted CPR to clarify the following points as basic information of survey areas to be utilized for rural poverty analysis and formulation of poverty reduction project: 

• Livelihood situation of poor herders (owing fewer than 200 animals)
• Poor households entitlement
• Formal and informal social safety net
• Cooperation systems in local area (function of hot ail and social network, etc)
• Local and central market access and local market condition
• Pasture and winter preparation
• Risk management

Detailed Description of Actual Services provided by your Company:

• Designed survey instruments
• Interviewed 100 poor households or equivalent number of hot-ails in each soum
• Interviewed local government officers, headers group, cooperatives and soum leaders
• Discussed findings of the survey findings with soum officials
• Analyzed the survey findings
• Prepared a report focusing recommendations for addressing key problems faced by poor herders households
