Detailed Narrative Description of Project: The project covers Dornogobi, Dundgobi, Umnugobi, Uvurkhangai, Bayankhongor, Gobi-Altai provinces. Its objective is assisting the Gobi provinces of the country in accelerating economic growth by providing a range of services of technical and financial nature. As the core economic activity of the region is livestock herding, the project focuses on activities such as sustainable management of grazing resources and wells, veterinary and breeding services, marketing of livestock products, provision of timely information and financial services.

• Identified problems faced by herding communities in 2 project site districts through field surveys using PRA techniques
• Developed Action Plan of activities in 7 areas: industry organization/institution-building; grazing land use; veterinary services; livestock breeding; supplementary feeding; marketing and SME development; herders’ business skills
